Rule 17-A Omitted Notification of Punjab Govt issued by Service and General Administration Department S&GAD vide No SOR-III(S&GAD)2-60/2024 dated 26-07-2024.

Rule 17-A previously stipulated that the children or widows/wives of deceased or incapacitated government servants could be employed against certain posts without following the standard recruitment procedures. After this notification Rule 17-A is committed.

No. SOR-III(S&GAD)2-60/2024 – In exercise of the powers conferred under section 23 of the Punjab Civil Servants Act, 1974 (VIII of 1974), the Governor of the Punjab is pleased to make the following amendment in the Punjab Civil Servants (Appointment and Conditions of Service) Rules, 1974, with immediate effect:-
